NewPrivate chats that burn to ash

The industry standard for private messaging.

Rhyme gives you a number, not an account. Text anyone by number, in chats that stay or private chats that burn to ash 24 hours after they're sent.

No sign-up. No email. No phone number.

Features

Everything you need. Nothing about you.

Numbers, not accounts

Open Rhyme and you're 4821. Share it, text a number back, and you're talking. No profile to fill in or leak.

Burn after 24 hours

Private messages turn to ash a day after they're sent, and are deleted from the server for good.

Live, with receipts

Messages, emoji reactions and read times arrive instantly. No refresh, no polling.

Groups

Up to 50 people, normal or private. New members can't scroll back through what they missed.

Video and voice calls

Call anyone you're chatting with. Calls ring wherever you are in the app, and your IP address is never shared.

Encrypted photos

Photos are encrypted on your device before upload. When the message is gone, so is the only key.

Voice notes and stickers

Record up to two minutes, or send one of 24 animated stickers. No third-party GIF service watching.

Search, pin and mute

Find any message in your normal chats, pin the five that matter, mute the rest. Edit typos for 15 minutes.

Contacts only you see

Name the numbers you text often. Names never leave your account, and never appear in private mode.

Silent blocking

To someone you block, you look exactly like an unassigned number. They're never told.

Privacy blur

Private chats stay blurred until you tap, and cover themselves the moment you switch away.

Install and get notified

Add Rhyme to your home screen like an app. Notifications say "New message", never what it says or who sent it.

Delete everything

Swipe a chat away, or slide once to unsend every message you've ever sent and clear every chat.

Burn your number

Wipe it all and start over with a new number that nobody can link to the old one.

Private mode

Say it. Then let it burn.

Flip to private and every message gets a 24-hour fuse. When it runs out, the message disappears on screen in a drift of ash and is permanently deleted from the database. No previews, no names, no history.

Start a private chat
  • 24-hour fuse

Expiry is set by the server, not your device, and enforced by the database.

  • Hidden on expiry

Burned messages can't be read even before cleanup runs.

  • No previews

Message text never appears in your chat list, not even to you.

  • Blur until tapped

And re-blurred automatically after a few seconds.

Video callsFull screen, picture in picture, mute and camera controls.
Voice callsJust audio, when you don't want to be seen.
Relay-onlyEvery packet goes through a relay, so neither side learns the other's IP address.
Incognito shieldIn private chats, the other person's video stays blurred until you tap.

Calls

Call by number. Keep your address to yourself.

Tap the phone or camera in any chat. The other person's phone rings wherever they are in Rhyme, even with the app closed if they've turned on notifications. Nothing about a call is recorded except a line in your chat history.

Security

Security isn't a setting. It's the schema.

  • Your identity is a signed, anonymous session. Your number is just an address.
  • Every row is guarded by database-level access rules. If you're not in a chat, it doesn't exist for you.
  • No table is writable from the browser. Every action goes through a checked, rate-limited function.
  • No secret keys ship to your device. Photos and voice notes are encrypted before they leave it.

Photos and voice notes are encrypted in your browser with a fresh key, and become unreadable the moment their message is gone. Rhyme is not end-to-end encrypted: messages, and the keys to files, are protected in transit by HTTPS and at rest by database access control.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is my number my identity?

No. Your identity is an anonymous, signed session on your device. A number is just an address, like a mailbox. Anyone who knows it can text you, but it doesn't prove who anyone is. Ask the person something only they'd know before trusting them.

What does incognito keep?

Nothing for long. Every private message gets a 24-hour fuse set by the server and is permanently deleted when it runs out. There are no previews, no contact names, nothing searchable and no drafts saved.

Can the person I call see my IP address?

No. Calls are relay-only: audio and video pass through a relay server, so neither side ever learns the other's IP address. Link previews are fetched by our server for the same reason.

What happens to my photos?

They're encrypted on your device before upload, and the key lives only inside the message. Unsend it, let it burn, or delete the chat, and the file can never be opened again. A daily job then removes it from storage.

Do notifications show my messages?

Never. A notification only ever says "New message" or "Incoming call". Muted chats and people you blocked don't notify you at all.

How do I get the app?

Rhyme runs in your browser. To get an app icon and notifications, use Install in Chrome or Edge, or on iPhone tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.

What if I want to disappear?

Burn your number. Everything you sent, your contacts and blocks are wiped, and you get a fresh number that nobody can link to the old one.

Your number is waiting.

It takes about a second. There's nothing to sign.
